back in NY, we lived next to a someone ‘connected’
our street was always plowed first.

I saw that when I lived in western PA. I noted how quickly a certain section* of the housing plan I lived in got plowed. And later found out that one of the township council members lived there.

* - And sometimes only that section. Whereas the hilly cul-de-sac I lived on would only get plowed 8-10 hours later.
