my ups is almost identical to the one in my #321. I have three computers plugged into it, plus my modem and my landline telephone/fax machine.

Well, yes, that would work in the fashion of “not too much draw to make it useful”.

The problem is more that the cable modem and the DSL modem have to be in different places because there’s no phone jack whatsoever anywhere close to the cable modem, nor a cable stud anywhere close to the phone jack the DSL uses.

And neither is in a convenient place to have your computer set up if you’re staying online in a power failure, though since most of ours are laptops, they can spend some time not plugged into a live circuit.

And the desktop could use the same UPS as the DSL.
