We go to the Finger Lakes pretty regularly and hit the same wineries time and again. Each vintage is different, sometimes good, some times not so much. The Mrs. and I have what we consider a refined palate, but will buy only what both agree is good.

We also look for offbeat types and varietals that have unique characteristics.

We do local (at least pretty close) most often when it comes to wine. Last 3 bottles of wine we had this past week were Shippenville Red from Deer Creek Winery just a bit east of here. The other was a red from Wilhelm Winery just a few miles up the road. I really liked the Shippenville Red.
