I remember crossing Montana at night. The exits were so few and far between that I started getting anxious when the gas gauge dipped below 1/2. Something about seeing the taillights 1/2 mile ahead, and the headlights 1/2 mile behind, and passing other cars maybe every minute or two really made me nervous.
Exits here on I-80 are a little closer, but after you pass Sidney going west, every one says “no services” until you get to Pine Bluffs, Wyoming, then again none until Cheyenne.
