Yeah because it’s a big part of why we’re so successful as a country at integrating people into our society. Again, just listen to yourself. You’re talking about revising 120 years of legal precedent that has worked. Millions of the men and women who helped us in WWII were birthright citizens. I’m sorry if I come off strong but you’re wanting us to give on an issue to people who want to reduce LEGAL immigration. I can’t do that. I can do with things like monitoring for criminal records and health risks at the borders but I will not accept the throwing children under the bus to satisfy anti-immigrant fanatics. Most people who oppose this don’t know a goddamned thing about immigration law and by humoring them you’re cosigning on that Know Nothingism.

not for throwing anybody under a bus, just for regulating, not reducing or eliminating immigration.

there are plenty of people who do not want to see it regulated at all because their businesses all depend on a steady supply of cheap, easily exploited labor.

I want to see and end put to that and make sure that people who come here can be legally registered and obtain work permits.
