5 cubs is a lot for one birthing for a bear. And as cute as the footage may be, it belies the real danger that occurs when bear families get close to human homes: It entirely possible someone will come upon said bears accidentally and then either get hurt by the mother bear as she acts to protect her cubs, or said human will shoot the bear sow dead for attacking to protect her cubs.
