Of course, impeachment never required Mitch McConnell’s approval. If the House GOP actually cared about this country, they could have proceeded at any time. The House has been as complicit, if not more so, than the Senate in terms of obstructing justice. I doubt that Nancy will proceed with impeachment efforts unless Mueller shows definitive and overwhelming proof of both Trump and Pence’s involvement with the Russians, sufficient to force the Republican hands. President Pelosi has a nice ring to it, but not likely to happen.

More likely, it’ll be a replay of Nixon/Agnew/Ford, where Pence bows out and Trump is forced to nominate someone that can get a majority in both Houses
