Erase our history?

What fucking history is that? The Confederacy, the fuckin’ secessionists who sought to preserve the institution of slavery by taking up arms and fired the first shots in the Civil War, and who lost said war that they started, isn’t their fucking heritage.

White supremacy is their heritage. The Confederacy is the proxy.

They want a return to the white supremacy and depriving minorities of their rights.

That’s what this is about. Trump’s accelerating their goals and objectives because Trump’s value signaling to everyone that he’s a white supremacist and aligned with the goddamned Nazis. He makes this his clarion call. Trump can’t be any clearer.

When they say “our history,” what they mean is generations of “Lost Cause” horseshit that started almost as soon as Reconstruction was forcefully ended to settle a presidential election. It’s the same sort of shit you see on the rise today in Japan and (to a lesser extent) in unified Germany: the idea that the war they instigated was an honorary one with noble goals, that their enemy accused them of “crimes” to cover up their own, and that their defeat was not on honorable terms but forced upon them by a monstrous opposition.
