The “Rus” part is important. Domestic violence has been decriminalized in Russia. Apparently using the same logic: men get frustrated and need to act out (IIRC, this was also a defense of Trump for firing Comey).

The “Varangian” part is a giveaway, too: ISTR it’s basically (shlocky, ahistorical) code for “tough-guy Nordic barbarian warrior”. Which, coupled with the hideous misogyny, and even-worse antisemitism (I feel dirtied just by even clicking on that blog), leads me to believe this guy really may be one of those 400-lb basement-dwellers of popular legend….
