A formerly whites-only neighbourhood in San Francisco run by a homeowners’ association is suing a Asian-American couple for purchasing their property at a city run tax sale. (Such whites-only covenants were banned by the Supreme Court decades ago.)

The homeowners’ association failed to pay their $14 per annum property tax for three decades. The new owner of the property paid $90,100 for the property.

they also took ownership of the sidewalks fronting the mansions and the “common ground” within the gated community, according to the Chronicle.

They are even considering renting out the private community’s 120 parking spaces.
