That’s a really cool site. I put in my name and found that there are fewer than 5,000 people in the world with my surname.
I was somewhat surprised to find out that my surname (which I had thought to be typically Ashkenazi-Jewish) is actually more common in Colombia and The Philippines than in the US. Though I’m not sure I would be related to many of these folks: like so many other descendants of immigrants, my family name was a “gift” from officials at Ellis Island.
