You would have loved this place, Chick Hall’s Surf Club. Chick Hall Jr. was the house band guiarist played bass (and owned the club.) Their father, Chick Hall Sr., was a monster player in the 50s and 60s.

A story they tell about him is he used to go to a guitar contest in Virginia when he was a teenager. He won so many times in a row, one year they just gave him the first prize as soon as he showed up.
