I don’t understand how taking a public stand on issues is somehow a bad thing to raise your public profile if you want to run for office. You kind of need a public profile if you want to do that.

Tom just strikes me as another rich white male dilettante trying to buy his way into politics. I’d rather he spent his money on shit that works like voter registration and would let people who didn’t make fortunes running hedge funds for extremely high net worth individuals run things.
