I wish more people knew firsthand what is like to have a family made up of many shades of skin color and features. They wouldn’t “agree to disagree” with these shitheads.

It’s funny but I remember how my FiL left Alabama after his service in the Navy in WWII because of the racism. His family, for the most part, stayed down there and stayed the same. But when Mary and I adopted from Vietnam we sent photos to the direct relations that were still alive. One of his sisters kept it on her refrigerator despite being perhaps the worst of the bunch. One day her daughter came by and started complaining about “that brown baby on the fridge” and the great aunt who never got to meet him was all “That’s my John and don’t you dare talk bad about him”.
