Stevens has done a very important service, I think, in putting his opinion on the 2A out there.

Thinking about the Overton Window and such phenomenon, one reason why the Trump hate-right has been so successful is that they don’t moderate themselves. They go whole hog into their hate of this or that (mostly brown people.)

We need a national conversation on doing exactly what Stevens suggests. We need to force the political window far, far away from the the gun-fetishists’ own view of this world, as far as possible.
