It has become more rash and direct in its tone of late and it has its own news outlets now…

Thanks to Roger Ailes (Nixon’s communications director) telling Richard Nixon what was really needed was a GOP TV.

Enter Ronald Reagan, elimination of the Fairness Doctrine, the rise of Reich-wing radio and FOX News Channel. That moved wingnut stuff out of Mimeographed handouts and John Birch Society tracts into the homes of everyone.

I agree it has more outlets, it isn’t any rasher in tone.
