Like RightWingConspirator, when I carried, I did not chamber a round. I figured that the second or so I saved chambering a round was not worth the risk of a negligent discharge.

I generally no longer carry for two reasons.

First, if I feel that I need a gun to go someplace, perhaps going there is not a good idea.

Second, I don’t have much interest in shooting anyone, nor in getting into a gun battle.
