I really don’t get the appeal, at all, of this formalistic argument around what does and doesn’t constitute “official” grounds when the facts are that:

A.) He straight up fucking lied to her, and
B.) The consequences of that lie are so incredibly dire for the people who are ostensibly her “subjects.”
