There’s no problem in assuming that Muslims were to blame, as long as you don’t do anything on that assumption.

There’s a problem in insisting it was the only possible explanation, which is actually what some people did.

Yes there is. It reeks of the same kind of disturbing mentality where people automatically assume the black guy did a crime, or assuming the girl was asking for it, or that immigrants are lazy welfare cheats.

It’s not on the same level of what you agree is a problem, but it’s still wrong to essentially hear news about a terrorist attack and turn to the nearest Muslim and say, I think one of your fellow followers is to blame. One doesn’t have to do anything, it’s the stereotype itself that’s offensive.
