Don’t think it really matters either way, as short of a major faux pas on Cain’s part, Perry’s fighting for “also-ran” status. Perhaps he’ll be lucky and make enough of an appearance in the polls to be considered for VP status, but by now, it’s obvious that the grand Romney slayer he is not.

Republicans are following a pretty predictable pattern; anyone but Romney can steal the spotlight briefly until the wingnuts are faced with the inescapable reality that the new flavor of the month is unelectable. Pretty much any Republican sitting on the sidelines can jump in just before the primaries and steal the nomination. Somebody might do it. Maybe Palin or trump might jump back in. Anything can happen.
