On Tuesday, the Kansas House of Representatives overwhelmingly approved a measure designed to bring >anti-negro segregation—>under the guise of “ethnic liberty“—to the already deep-red state. The bill, written out of fear that the state may soon face an >Oklahoma-style desegregation ruling, will now easily pass the Republican Senate and be signed into law by the Republican governor. The result will mark Kansas as the first state, though certainly not the last, to >legalize segregation of black and white people in virtually every arena of life.

I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again. It’s the same kind of hate just with different trappings. Think about that a moment. This is 2014 and we are STILL dealing with this kind of prejudice.

This is what happens when you tolerate intolerance, and make exceptions for people based on religious or other considerations. You create a situation where it is okay to discriminate in this manner.
