The numbers I quoted before were from 23andMe.

Originally, if you had a parent tested at 23andMe also, the estimates they provided were pretty good. Just recently I think they stopped “phasing” one’s genotype with the parent, but I am not sure of that.

23andMe was useful to my family history work early on as it became clear that there were secrets hidden in the family. Now, not everyone likes family secrets to be revealed, but for me they were important.
