I’m sure you heard the interview Obama did where he said, “I’m not concerned about procedure…” or something to that effect. It’s what he said. In the leadup to the vote, there was plenty of democrats rationalizing all the different tactics they were considering. The fact that what is coming out of it (it’s not done - the reconciliation bill still has to be passed) is less sinister is small comfort. And what it is is bad enough - saying, “ok, you sign the bill and I promise to pass these changes, cross my heart and hope to die, stick a needle in my eye”
