re: #339 Cheese Eating Victory Monkey

What do you think Israel and the Yishuv has been trying to do several times since 1937? Why didn’t the Palestinians accept a state in 1937, 1947, after 1967 and in 2000?

Sounds like news to me. What was offered to them in 2000?

So according to your worldview, autonomy based on internationally binding agreements signed by the PLO (The 1993 Statement of Principles, the Oslo Accords, and the Wye River Agreements) are now a form of institutionalized apartheid.

Either they have sovereign control over their own bounded sphere of land such that the people who live there are full citizens of that nation, or they are subject to some other sovereign entity who controls the bounded sphere of land and the residents are not full citizens of that nation. Pick one.

If you were talking about the rights of Palestinians in neighboring Arab countries, you might have a point. Also, you might want to ask why the Jordanians unilaterally revoked the citizenship of the West Bank Palestinians.

It would be really nice if Jordan said that all Palestinians are Joradanian citizens. Is Israel willing to cede the land currently surrounding those citizens to Jordan?

The reality is that the Palestinians have no political spectrum other than secular and religious hardliners and terrorists. There is no center or left that can survive and thrive in this environment.

I’m sure it’s helpful of you to tell them what they are in advance to rig the game. It’s not like asking them what they believe would help lead to peace…
