I’m not blaming him entirely. I’ve been there myself. I know the anger and the hopelessness and the cynicism and isolation well, watching everything crumble and finding everything you were raised to strive for is unattainable. I dropped out, and boomeranged home, too.
But at some point you have to realize that cynicism is self-defeating and go outside for fresh air. Lots of people, especially men with missing or bewildered parents, do not. Hence, the news.
