I gather Xi is putting on a gilded dog and pony show for Trump. I assume his pocket will be picked while he’s soaking it all up.

Xi knows that you always play to your foe’s weakness. In this case, Trump’s desire for adulation and his narcissism - the more he is flattered, the more pliable he becomes. The more pliable Trump is, the easier it will be for Xi to get the better of him.

Xi Jinping is no fool…..indeed, he is a very canny and highly capable politician.
