Oh, no, he lost VA by a lot. Back then before I understood polling (I still won’t profess to know it that well) but I thought there was a chance that VA might flip that year. I remember my 12th government teacher telling me I was nuts. NM was more of a surprise though since it had been a Gore state. Kerry won New Hampshire, a state that Gore had lost. So I guess this is why I’m pretty confident. Gore and Kerry I feel ran subpar campaigns compared to Clinton and I feel Bush ran above average campaigns compared to Trump. Even with all that, he won the 2000 and 2004 elections by one state. I just don’t see Trump being able to pick up all those states.

Florida got all the attention in 2000 because it decided the election either way, but New Mexico had a recount too. It has steadily moved Democratic since.
