That’s a possibility. Putin’s end goal could not to have a puppet like Trump in charge but to create mistrust of the system as a whole by getting a stooge like Trump elected in the first place.

It’s very plausible. Even in the best of circumstances — impeachments, resignations, indictments and resignations — Putin still wins.

Why? Because I wouldn’t trust a Republican with tying their shoes, let alone on any policy whatsoever. The mistrust between the two parties will be long-lasting and possibly permanent. It won’t result in a war, but humiliates us right off of the world stage.
