The GHW Bush zinger I always remember was Ann Richards, “Poor George, born with a silver foot in his mouth.”

The feeling I got from GHWB to some extent, but which emanated in waves from GWB, was that the reason they wanted to be President was that people like them were SUPPOSED TO BE President.
