apropos of the top of this thread and this entry, on my run this morning i started playing around with scenarios re the stormy daniels payment and how this all could have worked for trump to be “innocent”.

i concocted one scenario - totally possible and also highly improbable that actually insulates trump from the problems with the FEC only.

say cohen actually set up the nda and paid the money all on his own. neither trump nor anyone in the campaign were aware. (i said possible.) cohen is screwed with the fec, his legal license, and the nda is n/a so trump loses on that score. cohen is probably also screwed with regards to various federal and state income tax laws

say later that cohen asks trump for money, doesnt explain, doesnt segregate fees from reimbursed costs on any billing documentation (could happen) and trump doesnt ask, just pays.

so trump and the campaign dont find out until recently whats really been going on. immediately they could/should amend their fec filings because, gosh darn, they just found out themselves!

bizarre, yet possible.

Any other scenario and it’s an organized, planned conspiracy and cover up. they are all screwed. and i cant come up with anything where cohen isnt toast

of course i dont believe any of it
and that penny is gonna drop anyway because its way bigger than just this issue
