Relating to the OP, if Rage Furby’s FreeLoadr site (or whatever it’s called) is processing donations to foreign-based organizations — like that Afrikaner fringe group — that would send up all kinds of red flags in Stripe’s legal and accounting departments. $45K is not pocket change, for one. Stripe would be understandably concerned about FinCEN, the IRS and the FBI paying Stripe visits to find out why so much money is being funneled through a so-called crowd-funding site to offshore organizations. Easiest recourse for Stripe is to cut ties with Rage Furby to avoid any sort of “entanglements” with US authorities.

For a guy who repeatedly boasts about his high IQ, RF is remarkably obtuse. Once you start dealing with sums of money in excess of $10K, the Feds start to get curious about what’s going on. He’s practically got a neon sign turned on that says “Money laundering needs? Come see us!”

Besides all that, I’m still wondering how (or if) he reports the income he makes off handling this amount of cash. I had the same question about WeSearchr, which had the interesting clause in its T&C that WeSearchr would just hold onto funds donated to unsuccessful projects for later reassignment to other projects.

Then I wonder how (or if) he was explaining to his wife how much he’s actually worth.
