True, though 2004 wasn’t an “off-year primary.” So now I’m not sure either what she’s using as a point of comparison. She also had this mini-thread on NY voter suppression:

Yeah, I’m not sure what AOC is bitching about there (especially as that “suppressed” voter turnout was, at bottom, the key to her victory) - she does make a good point about the multiple-primaries thing we have here in NY: but “voter suppression”? SRSLY?
Admittedly, New York doesn’t go out of its way to make it easier to register and vote (anecdata here: Mrs. Jay is disabled enough not to want to have to go vote in person, the City Board of Elections* thus barrages her - and me, if I request it - with plenty of timely mail-in ballots; even the ridiculous single-candidate-primary ones), but Alabama it ain’t.

*Maybe a City v. State thing, ¿quien sabe?
