re: #8 FormerDirtDart šš No Captānš·Trips
This is why Iām convinced that Trump is going to run third party in 2024. Heās going to undermine the GOP in the Georgia run offs. Heās going to claim that the GOP is too corrupt (hahaha), and that his only choice is to seek the nomination of the Constitution Party (or WETF they call it now), because thatās where real Americans are anyway.
The true shitshow possibility happens where the election gets thrown to Congress because nobody gets to 270. The House has to pick from the top two (and vote by state), the Senate chooses from the top three and itās a traditional vote. Now: imagine Trump finishes second behind Biden (or Harris or whomever), and Republicans in several states have to decide whether theyāll vote for Trump (who at that point will have spent four years railing against them) or the Democrat?
The more likely scenario is that Trump and the Republican nominee end up splitting votes in states that would have otherwise gone for the Republican and the Democratic nominee ends up winning in an electoral college landslide. But after the last 20 years of insanity in our politics, Iām not willing to say āelection gets thrown to Congressā is outside the realm of possibilities.
