This uproar reflects a fundamental division in the Republican party, between business-oriented (“greed is good”) and social issues (“batshit”) elements. This is basically a class division between 1%ers who exploit bigots and the bigots themselves. The revolt by Flake and Corker reflects a belated recognition that the 1%er Frankensteins have well and truly lost control of their monster (as we have known for years) and, further, that they have lost all hope of regaining that control.

What really sucks is the rest of us have gotten caught in the middle of their divide.
