in my case it crept along
first it was an android phone (and like you it had been so long that i forgot what to do..)
then an android tablet
then another android phone
then finally a windows 7 and windows 10 desktop
Sorry that you had to deal with the “creeping death” of your various tech devices.
It sounds like you do what I do. When one device stops working, go to the pile of older devices and pick up a different one.
And it sounds like Belafon was correct, then. That the problem was a non Microsoft software update. Possibly a browser?
