re: #342 Islamo-Masonic Conspirator

The reasons differ. Obama said that probably because it’s what the Muslim allies must hear. In his place I would probably say the same. Others say that because they don’t want to be associated with fanatics (whether Christians or Muslims). Still others try to defend the whole groups from such associations. The latter two reasons may be admirable, but they’re nevertheless wrong, since they’re a form of the No True Scotsman fallacy. It’s no different than, say, Jack Chick claiming that Catholics aren’t Christians. Yes, they are. So were the Crusaders. So was Torquemada. So were the people who murdered the Salem “witches”.

They’re wrong, but sometimes they have to be said in order to keep other Muslims and/or Christians from thinking that they are under attack.
