Because some people don’t understand statistics, or how vaccine harm statistics are assembled.

Someone dies at some point after a vaccine is given, and that can count against the vaccine as a harm, even if it isn’t actually related. Same with autism. Just because the person appears to begin showing symptoms of autism spectrum disorders doesn’t mean autism is linked to vaccination that may have preceded it. But that’s how the anti-vaxxers link it. Action…. adverse event. Vaccination being the culprit, even though countless studies have debunked.

That’s what the Anti-Vaxxers count on - people not understanding the facts or information.

Millions of lives are improved b/c of vaccinations. We don’t have smallpox outbreaks anywhere in the world. We eradicated the disease, which was responsible for hundreds of millions of deaths during the 20th century alone.

Polio is nearly eradicated, and it’s gone in the US. We don’t have iron lung wings anymore, because of vaccinations.

Measles, mumps, diphtheria, tetanus. Same deal. Chicken pox too. All wholly preventable and largely eradicated. But the anti-vaxxers inroads are allowing them to gain a foothold again.
