I don’t think OPOWG is going to be a factor in 2020. He caught fire because there was simply no field in 2016. We saw in 2008 that there was a portion of the party that wasn’t very supportive of Hillary Clinton, and it shouldn’t have surprised anyone that something similar would happen in 2016. The problem was that there weren’t any legitimate challengers because of senate and governor results in 2012 and 2014. In a larger, more traditional field, OPOWG would have been Dennis Kucinich rather than a viable alternative.

I’m not so sure. Sanders Deadenders really are a cult of personality, and this is driving the ‘Left vs Liberal’ fight more than anything else.
