I think that is a problem in congress. The critters that inhabit the hill seem to think that their districts/states should mirror the thoughts of the critters and not the other way around.

I think it’s definitely a problem with Susan Collins: she’s spent years on The Hill trying to buff her image as The Respected Stateswoman and Voice Of Rational Moderation (in an otherwise prone-to-extremism GOP) that she reflexively takes it amiss when others - especially her constituents - call her out on her bullshit, and bring it out in public that despite the oft-expressed Questions And Concerns, she rarely -if ever - bucks the Party leadership, and votes the straight GOP line time and again.
