I missed his comment in my catch-up. We couldn’t get people to move out of the large cities without hugh capacity broadband everywhere. Plus, I do think it’s reached the point where it’s as much of a person’s right as electricity is.

Someone mentioned starlink upthread with a gripe about astronomers and some pejorative about dudebros.

IMO if starlink can actually deliver on the promise of reasonably inexpensive reasonably fast internet anywhere in the world, the hassle to astronomers of programing their computers to digitally compensate for the known orbits of a bunch of satellites will be well worth it.
