I will agree with you one hundred percent. What we have now is pap, and it has stagnated and simply gone stale. I would say this both on a technical musical level and on a creative artistic level.

There is nothing unique or new about the pop music being written and performed today.

I think the liner notes of “Beatles For Sale” says that this is what the children of the year 2000 will be listening to. Pretty prescient, I’d say.
