I realize you just left the thread, but I still think I should point out the quibble here seems to be with the definition of “human nature”. You seem to think it only encompasses the things that make us good, while I (and I would guess Obdicut) think it encompasses both.

We’re born with the capacity for both good and evil. What wins out depends on our internal balance between the two and what the society we’re in rewards.
