Competition lowers prices?
The ACA marketplace is a marketplace where insurers get to put their product in competition with other insurers. It didn’t exist before the ACA. Some insurers have done well with the ACA. Others have dropped out because they aren’t making as much money as they want to make on those lines of business.
But that’s competition for you.
In America we are still sold on the notion that “personal freedom” means that you and your family, with limited income and assets, get to try to negotiate with multi-million/billion-dollar (inter)national corporations for terms of insurance coverage, employment or financial services…
