I used to play at a club where John’s band also played, pre-Stern Show. John wasn’t the sharpest tool in the drawer - one night he played the club and left behind a Gibson Les Paul Deluxe and never bothered to come back for it.

The club’s sound man ended up selling the guitar to a friend of mine, who still has it.
