No I was talking about people using the excuse time leads to faulty memories.

I was cautioning that we can’t allow time to be an issue in one and not the other. All the excuses and arguments are going to be the same in many of these allegations.

I never intended to imply that time erases bad deeds. Not sure where you get that, but I could tell that was how it was being read.

That is why I am trying clarify the comment. Oh well. Not doing a good job.

In which case my response (which was about the evidentiary value) still applies. Time is always an issue, but several old corroborated testimonies investigated by a journalist weigh more than a single as yet uncorroborated and uninvestigated old one. Time is less of an issue for them. They are not equal. So HW bringing this up was not an example of a double standard.
