I don’t mean to denigrate religion. There are doubtless many passages in the Bible that are literally true. And there are many truths to be gleaned from Scripture if one interprets it in the right way.

But I reject the notion that every part of the Bible is literally true.

If you believe that every part of the Bible is literally true, then be prepared to defend the parts I have cited.
