We never “armed the Taliban”. The taliban didn’t exist then, we armed the ISI, hooligans that they were, and trained some Mujahideen.

Yeah, there was a passage in Peggy Noonan’s book about her years at the White House where the Mujadeen show up. She thought they were charming.
