The current plan is to let Elder FO run out the string and then probably pick up a pair of cats of similar age. Either kittens, or young shelter rescues. Will have to do some work on the apartment to handle agile cats beforehand at that point.

My parents’ feline overlords are a hunting pair. One is the spotter, the other is the killer. They make very efficient work of pests on my parents’ farm.
