Some shows just jump the shark way too early - Jeremiah did that in season 2 - and collapse under their own terminal story-line blow ups.

Some shows are just confused about who their audiences ought to be and suffer - Terra Nova is the latest case.

Eureka survived as long as it did because, I propose, the producers decided to go for a younger audience. Making “SciFi” for adults is very risky these days.

Eureka didn’t take itself too seriously. I never see that as a liability.
