Had Hitler not declared war on the USA after we declared war on the Japanese Empire, there’s a good possibility we might not have gone to war with Nazi Germany at all.

Hitler’s fatuous declaration of war, certainly one of the biggest blunders in recorded history, ensured that the US Congress would respond in kind, thus sealing his fate.

Strange show of loyalty to Japan, especially since the Japanese had refused to join in the invasion of the Soviet Union, allowing Stalin to transfer Siberian units to the Eastern Front. The smart move by Hitler would’ve been to condemn the Japanese attack, and state his desire for a negotiated peace with Britain so that he could focus on defending Europe from Marxism.
